Welcome to Community Compound

Our fund supports organizations in disinvested communities to improve their ability to maximize expeditious access to necessary support measures in order to compound positive impact! Technical assistance is not always pro bono; that's where we step in.

About

Fund Origin

Compound Community was created to support technical assistance expenses for frontline organizations in need of capacity building resources. We acknowledge that pro bono assistance does not alway exist, especially in communities of color. Our fund helps identify technical assistance providers and supports the costs associated with walking alongside community based organizations and projects to help scale impact. The fund holistically aids in manifesting efforts like grant writing, impact reporting, metrics capturing, data analysis, partnership facilitation, and training. We partner with other change makers to ensure our communities can receive the support they need to compound their impact.

Community Compound uplifts the experience of its founder's frequent frustration with funded technical assistance programs that refer limited resourced organizations to for-profit contractors who are mission aligned but cannot offer their services free of charge. Often times, these referrals are left un-executed and the organization seeking help ends up back at square one; unsupported and frustrated. This perpetual cycle does not allow for the compounding of impact that might occur if these organizations are able to obtain the support they so desperately seek.

This systemic routine is what keeps brilliant projects that have the ability to change lives and environments from exponentially growing and meeting pivotal funding movements meant for them. The federal government is attempting to change the status quo but what they are not realizing is that their investment will remain inaccessible due to limited capacity. An organization cannot "scale up" by way of increasing personnel with grant funds for example, if they cannot submit the grant. Community Compound seeks to disrupt this marathon of oppression to ensure communities feel prepared to come to the table for the funding meant for the communities they serve.

The Problem

Frontline organizations need support that costs money and is rarely available pro bono.
Grants do not alway cover expenses necessary to successfully implement a project like grant management and impact reporting.
Philanthropy is encouraged to provide "gap" funding but does not alway have a direct line to the organizations that need it most.
There are dozens of fantastic collaboratives that provide training and democratize information and resources but what disinvested communities have expressed they need most is one-on-one technical assistance.
